It is with great joy that we make the first version of the One Million Voices of Agroecology app available for Android devices. This is a labor of love (and volunteer) that complements the web platform. We hope to build (co-create) together with all agroecologists a digital platform that allows the strengthening of networks in agroecology.

We will be improving the platform and we count on your help. So please give us your feedback. Any problems or suggestions, please tell us.

TRANSITIONS For Our Future

By Marcelo Soares Souza (Mapa da Agroecologia). Updated at 2024-01-30 21:44:44 UTC.

WHEN: 8 February 2024, 2 - 3:30pm CEST

Synopsis:

Scaling agroecology is fundamental if we want to transition to sustainable food systems quickly, reaching the ‘safe and sweet spot for humanity’ in which social needs are met without breaking the ecological ceiling. However, the endeavour to scale agroecology up in its current form has been challenging due to a number of reasons – from inputs and trade-offs to business models and clubism.

What if, instead, agroecology could become a more inclusive concept? Or what if it could comprise a more productive plurality of blended approaches based on outcomes, such as climate smart agriculture and organic farming?

This is exactly what the TRANSITIONS program is focused on. With the three domains for transformation at its center – namely, performance metrics, digital tools and private/public sector incentives and investments – the program takes a broader approach to revolutionizing food systems, with a plurality of outcome-based methods. By considering both strengths and trade-offs of all viable options in particular contexts, TRANSITIONS aims to take the best of all of them to scale up innovations, principles and approaches that break existing barriers and lock-ins.

The event:

The TRANSITIONS For Our Future event will present some of the most important outcomes from the first year of the program, all the while creating a space for discussion with key stakeholders working on transforming food systems. Ample time will be given for discussion between panelists as well as for Q&A and interaction with the audience.
